The West Ranch Town Council has several Committees that work to support the needs of the Council. Additional committees are added as needed to address the needs of the community and to partner with Los Angeles County and our neighbors.Governmental Status Exploratory Committee

The Government Relations committee is the group that represents the West Ranch Town Council's interests in the current initiative around determining the future of the West Side - Incorporation, Annexation, or Maintaining the Current Unincorporated Status. This committee works closely with officials from Los Angeles County, the Castaic Town Council, and the City of Santa Clarita.
The Committee provides update reports on its activities and meetings at each West Ranch Town Council meeting. New information and updates will also be posted on the News page of this site.
I5 - Lyons Ave / Pico Canyon Interchange Landscape Project Committee
This committee was formed to partner with the City of Santa Clarita in order to examine and discuss steps which can be taken to landscape and beautify this interchange. Chuck O'Connell is the lead representative of the West Ranch Town Council on this initiative.
Pico Canyon Park / 'Old Glory'
This committee was formed to discuss concerns with the LA County Parks and Recreation Department to improve access to 'Old Glory' now that it has been 5 years since it was transplanted. This tree should be accessible to the community as opposed to being kept behind fencing. Dave Bossert is the lead representative of the West Ranch Town Council for this committee.
Election 2008 Committee
This committee is responsible for developing and expanding the election bylaws that the West Ranch Town Council falls under. The committee reports on its findings and ideas as needed to the entire West Ranch Town Council at the regularly scheduled meetings. All recommendations must be passed by the West Ranch Town Council before taking effect. Ron Mechsner is currently leading the Election 2008 Committee. Additional members will be added as the election date closes.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO WORK WITH THIS COMMITTEE
Security / Public Safety Committee
This committee concentrates on the security and public safety issues that impact our area. The goal is to provide a dedicated team of council members to work with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol, and Security Committees from the area's Homeowner Associations in order to help keep the West Ranch area a safe secure environment for our residents and visitors.
Government Relations Committee
This committee is tasked to work with the County, local neighboring government bodies, the community Homeowner Associations, and other governmental organizations to assist and resolve issues that impact the quality of life for residents of the West Ranch areas. Included in this are specific community liaisons who volunteer to help improve the communication between those of the communities with the government organizations best positioned to assist their needs.
